Elders Committee and Historic Preservation Committee Sponsor Presentation on Lenape History July 12

The Elders Committee and the Historic Preservation Committee are sponsoring a presentation entitled Survival of Our Lenape Ancestors in Lenapehoking During Aboriginal and Early Woodland Period, to be presented by Annette Ketchum on Saturday, July 12. The event will be held from 12:30-2:00 P.M. at Forsythe Hall, while also available to attend via Zoom. To RSVP and receive a Zoom link, please email delawareeldercouncil2023@gmail.com. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person.

Cultural Preservation Committee to Hold Arts & Crafts Night June 17th

Do you have a project that you started, but never finished? The Cultural Preservation Committee is hosting an Arts & Crafts Night from 5:30-8:30 P.M. on Tuesday June 17th.Giving our community the opportunity to bring out old projects and see them through. Maybe you have a pair of lènhàksëna (moccasins) you haven’t finished, an ansipëlaon (hair bow) that could be decorated, or even some regalia that needs mending.

Join us for a night of food and fun, as we come together to work on our projects! We will be serving chili dogs!

Cultural Night to be Held Thursday May 22nd

Join us Thursday night to celebrate our traditional Lenape social dances before Pow Wow begins. We will have supper at Ford Griggs camp at 6:00 P.M. The Cultural Preservation Committee will be furnishing meat. Please bring a covered dish. Following supper, we will make a pure fire to gather around for songs & social/stomp dances. See you there!
