General Description:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the Human Resources Department; acting as a resource and advisor to department directors, the Tribal Operations Manager, the Chief and the Tribal Council on personnel matters; and organizing the employee structure for the Delaware Tribe of Indians.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or 3 – 5 years experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of employee benefit programs
  • Knowledge of payroll tax liabilities
  • Familiarity with workman’s comp and state regulated mandates on unemployment
  • Experience in Abila Fund 100 Accounting preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and tribal labor laws

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mediates disputes and grievances
  • Ensures that all department directors are enforcing Delaware Tribal policies and procedures throughout the tribal programs in coordination with the Tribal Operations Manager

General Description:

The Wellness Center Attendant monitors Wellness Center activities, provides instruction to clients on the use of Wellness Center equipment and receives, processes and maintains applications and payments for the center. Also, the attendant will provide tribal citizen’s with information and forms regarding the tribe’s assistance programs and services.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess and maintain a current CPR and first aid certificate or be willing to obtain within 90 days from start date
  • Prefer experience with Microsoft Office products and various exercise equipment
  • Must be available to work occasional nights, holidays and weekends

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, handle, lift and grab objects. May occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides instruction to patrons in the proper use of the facility equipment as needed
  • Performs routine daily maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment and conducting minor repairs on facility equipment
  • Documents and reports all accidents and incidents in the fitness room
  • Documents and reports all equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to supervisor. Daily laundering of towels
  • Monitors fitness room to ensure rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements are met by patrons.
  • Responsible for keeping the locker rooms and restrooms clean and stocked at all times. This includes mopping floors and keeping counters, showers, lockers, and bathroom stalls clean
  • Provide exercise programs or fitness courses for patrons
  • Accepts membership payments for Accounting Department processing and balance cash box
  • Process membership applications and maintain membership files
  • Provides educational material to clients regarding health and prevention
  • Provides customer assistance as needed

General Description:

The Tribal Operations Manager provides oversight to all Delaware Tribal Programs on behalf of the Chief and the Tribal Council and acts as their liaison to the tribal employees. This is an at-will position serving at the pleasure of the Chief as well as being a political appointment of the Chief.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or other similar degree and/or five years executive management experience (tribal government experience preferred but not required)

  • Communicates with the Chief and the Tribal Council on behalf of the staff
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and compiles monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Chief and the Tribal Council
  • Ensures that all department directors are enforcing Delaware Tribal policies and procedures throughout the tribal programs
  • Approves all voucher/purchase requisitions for all tribal programs between $2,000 and $7,000
  • Provides program development for Tribal Council approval

General Description:

Qualifications:

Work experience should reflect proficiency in case management and participation in court intervention cases concerning child support enforcement issues. General Description:

Assist with low rent, homeownership programs to fulfill the needs of the Delaware Tribe Housing Program clients. Counsel and assist clients with the understanding of the policies and procedures. The successful candidate can expect local travel several times per month, and out-of-town travel for training several times per year. Must have good attention to detail and pride in your work. Must enjoy a challenge; possess an excellent sense of humor and well-developed stress management techniques. Must have experience in working with diverse groups of individuals, especially those at low and very low income levels. Will possess a working knowledge of: (1) HUD housing programs; (2) Delaware Tribe Housing programs and ; (3) the local housing market. Must understand Federal Statutes and regulations that govern HUD/Housing Program.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Intermediate skills and abilities, including working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (or other major suite software applications). Ability to operate mouse and keyboard with high accuracy and moderate or better speed; operation of color printer.

REASONING ABILITY:

Qualifications:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology or related field. A degree in Business Administration with management emphasis may substitute at the discretion of Tribal Operations Director. Master’s Degree preferred. Prefer three (3) years’ experience in social services work in public or private sector.

Must have comprehension and understanding of community/social services program operation, planning, and direction.

Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience managing or supervising subordinate staff.

Must have comprehension and understanding of the basic principles of Child Support Enforcement, Indian Child Welfare, Domestic Violence Intervention, and civil court proceedings.

Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in child support enforcement or child welfare case management.

Must show literacy, proficiency, and experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to maintain a working relationship with program staff, contract consultants, and court judges & clerks.

Must be able to pass a background check (no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children).

General Description:

Position involves monitoring, disbursing, and collecting child support payments received by the Delaware Tribe’s Child Support Services (CSS) program. Position requires ability to properly process received CSS payments and disburse collections expeditiously. Must complete complex child support calculations and certify accounts accurately to clients, courts, and attorneys involving other state and Tribal jurisdictions may be necessary.
Provide comprehensive child support services to children, custodial and non­custodial parents by performing interviews, investigations, financial negotiations, and collections. Work includes monitoring ongoing cases, conducting research and consultations, assisting preparation and modification of legal documents, negotiating stipulations, coordinating the processing of warrants and hearings. Document financial activities and produce statistical and financial records.

In addition to the financial obligations, the position will also serve as the primary receptionist/office coordinator for the CSS department.

Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or other business related field is required. Five years experience in related field may be considered as substitute for degree. A minimum of two years’ experience in social services or accounting is required. Paralegal education may be substituted for required experience. Requires proficient ability to read court orders, assess/evaluate legal documents, and enforce child support guidelines.

Must have the ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents which may include tax forms, expense reports, case records, statutes, statistics, etc. ability to interact tactfully and positively with Tribal members and all levels of staff in a culturally diverse environment, experience dealing with individuals in crisis including strong customer service skills and the ability to defuse tense situations.
