General Description
An enrollment clerk for the Delaware Tribe of Indians serves as support staff for the Enrollment Department Director. It is the duty of the enrollment clerk to keep the Enrollment Department current in processing applications for tribal enrollment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Requires a high level of problem solving and organization skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs as well as Microsoft Project. Proficiency in the Progeny program preferred but not required
  • Must become proficient in the Progeny Program within 30 days of hire
  • Requires good interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have own transportation and clean driving record- may be required to drive GSA vehicle or tribal vehicle to meeting or training

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all membership applications are complete
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Delaware Tribal members
  • Receive and process all membership applications
  • Enter new enrollees into the system within the time frame specified in Tribal Law
  • Mail birth certificates and other original documents back to applicants
  • Ensure all tribal enrollment files are up to date
  • Print and mail enrollment cards with accompanying documents
  • Accepts the responsibility of maintaining all enrollment files
  • Other duties as assigned by Enrollment Director

HISTORIC PRESERVATION – ARCHAEOLOGICAL PROJECT
INTERN POSITION
SEPTEMBER 5-6, 2019 at PENNSBURY MANOR in PHILADELPHIA, PA

The Delaware Tribe of Indians Historic Preservation Office (HPO) is immediately seeking two (2) tribal members, between ages 18-32, who would like to become a member of an archaeological dig team. The short-term project will look at the sub-surface grounds of Pennsbury Manor, the historic home of Governor William Penn in suburban Philadelphia. This project is scheduled for Thursday September 5 and Friday September 6. This is a short-notice soliciting a quick response.
Applicants must contact the HPO staff to indicate their availability for service. Closing date to apply is Thursday August 29. Once selected, they will be provided transportation funds (including per diem) and a wage of $12.00/hour for a minimum of two (2) eight-hour days. Backpack Drive Runs From July 1 – July 26

The Delaware Tribe of Indians is collecting school supplies July 1 – July 26 for children in elementary, middle and high school. Any donations will be excepted as long as the item is unused. See the flyer for details on where to drop off and what supplies are being requested. There will be more information later on how to become eligible and when the backpacks will be distributed.

Housing Maintenance Worker

General Description
Desired applicant must be able to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks of routine difficulty in homes, duplexes, apartments and outdoors. Applicant must be self-motivated and able to work with elderly tenants and families. Tasks will involve repairs, cleaning and maintaining assigned properties. Preventive maintenance, ground keeping and property inspections, including assigned work orders and other duties as assigned.

Full time position Monday – Friday, under the general supervision of the Maintenance Lead and the Housing Director.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED, plus 1-2 years of experience and/or training in residential building maintenance and grounds keeping.
  • Must possess an Oklahoma Driver’s License and be eligible to be added to the DTHP’s insurance and both must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
  • Must be able to communicate well both oral and in writing and be able to shift assignments based on priority and /or direction.
  • Must have experience to properly utilize, a variety of construction hand and power tolls including chop saws, power washers and generators.
  • The ability to correctly follow instructions for make-ready units for immediate move-ins which, may include but not limited to: follow painting instructions, drywall preparation and repair instructions, texturing and sealing methods instruction, floor care instructions, the basic plumbing and electrical repair and grounds keeping.
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull or move objects weighing 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with safe techniques.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to keep records, project tracking reports, and must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to accurately estimate time and materials required for repairs and/or maintenance work.
  • Ability to work outdoors daily.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to receive after work hours On Call request on a routine basis and either complete after hours work orders or temporary correct the problem until normal hours to fully correct the problem or call specific business if unable to or if a licensed business is required
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to residential units to include but not limited to: basic plumbing issues, pumps fixtures, minor electrical, window and door repairs or installation cabinets repair, cleaning, floor care including installations of vet, concrete repair
  • Changed doors or locks on units
  • Assist in the installing appliances and perform minor maintenance or repairs to appliances
  • Ability to learn to identify and report any irregular, unsafe or hazardous conditions in units or on DTHP grounds
  • Perform custodial duties within assigned work areas
  • Maintain and repairs fences, gates and walkways
  • Paint and maintain interior and exterior of units
  • Clean out drainage ditches and culvers as needed
  • Clean gutters and roof as needed
  • Properly complete tasks as assigned
  • Properly use and maintain all DTHP equipment, tools and materials and assures safe and proper storage
  • Maintains consistent vehicle inventory of all DTHP equipment, tools and material and assures safe and proper storage
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • The ability to learn to be responsible for following safe work procedures
  • Ability to work with and under the direction of others in special projects and ongoing maintenances or grounds keeping while maintaining a respectful, courteous manner
  • Other duties assigned by the Housing Inspectors of the Delaware Tribe Housing Program
