Family and Children Services Director

General Description
The Department Director provides oversight, supervision, direction of planning and coordination of the program budget, goals & objectives, and staffing. Monitors and assists with the overall implementation of policies and procedures for support of professional staff. Oversight in maintaining compliance related to Tribal, Federal, and State laws, policies, procedures, and regulations. Works as required with child and family agencies, applicable law enforcement and court systems at Tribal, Federal, and State levels.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology or related field. A degree in Business Administration with management emphasis may substitute at the discretion of Tribal Operations Director. Prefer three (3) years’ experience in social services work in public or private sector.
  • Must have comprehension and understanding of grants, grant reporting, budgets, budget reporting, community/social services program operation, planning, and direction.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience managing or supervising subordinate staff.
  • Must have comprehension and understanding of the basic principles of Child Support Enforcement, Indian Child Welfare, Domestic Violence Intervention, and civil court proceedings.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in child support enforcement or child welfare case management.
  • Must show literacy, proficiency, and experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to maintain a working relationship with program staff, contract consultants, and court judges & clerks.
  • Must be able to pass a background check (no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children).
  • Must be able to pass an employment drug screen test.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly works with Tribal Operations Manager and Chief Financial Officer in submitting reports to Tribal, Federal, and State officials. Organize and coordinate all aspects of day-to-day operations of department programs.
  • Develop operating budgets for department programs. Work with Human Resources department to hire appropriate staff.
  • Maintain proficiency in all tribal codes, policies, and procedures plus all federal regulations related to department programs. Adhere to all policies and procedures in identifying client needs and directing case management services.
  • Responsible for all programmatic reports to applicable federal and state agencies, the Tribal Manager and Tribal Chief Financial Officer, and the Tribal Council as required.
  • Act as a liaison between Indian families and various service provider agencies.
  • Professionally represent the department and attend various community meetings and events to promote the goals and market the services of the department.
  • Conduct analysis of services provided by various organizations and agencies. Make recommendations and suggestions of new and alternative methods for improving client benefits to the Delaware Tribe senior management and Tribal Council.
  • Prepare all applications for grants and contracts that provide funding for department programs from various federal, state, tribal, or private agencies. Work with staff, senior management, and Tribal Council to submit all applications.
  • Coordinate with Chief Financial Officer to provide grants and contracts compliance with appropriate agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Tribal Operations Manager or Tribal Council related to program aspects of the Department of Family & Children Services and or Tribal Administration.

Landscaping Maintenance

General Description
The Landscaping Maintenance Worker for the Delaware Tribe of Indians will perform upkeep of Tribal Complex grounds and properties in various types of weather conditions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mow grass and prune trees and shrubs
  • Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects
  • Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival
  • Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs
  • Rake fallen leaves and remove debris
  • Keep pedestrian areas removed of snow and ice
  • Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repair
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions form supervisors or senior maintenance workers
  • Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as Zero Turn Mowers, Brush Hog, push lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and have a valid OK drivers license
  • Ability to use hand tool and power tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Education and Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • At least 18 years old
  • Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time

General Description
The enrollment file clerk for the Delaware Tribe of Indians serves as support staff for the Enrollment Department. It is the duty of the enrollment file clerk to keep the Enrollment Department current in scanning, filing, and organization for tribal enrollment.

  • Accepts the responsibility of maintaining all enrollment files
  • Other duties as assigned by Enrollment Director, Executive Director of Tribal Operations, and Tribal Council

General Description
Lenape Early Learning Center is seeking an individual with kitchen, restaurant or culinary experience to serve as our cook. This individual will be responsible for following and implementing all USDA food program paperwork and child meal pattern plans. This individual will create monthly menus, conduct inventory of food stock, rotate and label stock, prepare meals and deliver to classrooms at scheduled meal times. The ideal candidate must be a go getter who likes a fast passed work environment. This individual should have a minimum of one-year experience as an institutional cook and receive the minimum training requirements established by the Department of Human Services (DHS)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of a High-School Diploma/GED
  • Oklahoma Food Handlers Permit or be willing to receive
  • Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children or violence, and satisfactorily complete the required background check and drug testing

Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrive promptly at the beginning of your shift Monday thru Friday
  • Follow all guidelines established by OKDHS and the CACFP food program
  • Maintain all CACFP paperwork
  • Manage inventory of kitchen supplies
  • Order kitchen supplies and work within a prepared budget
  • Prepare all meals and assist in the delivery of meals to classrooms
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and work environment at all times
  • Post any and all child allergies in kitchen
  • Maintain refrigerator/freezer daily temperature logs
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate unity and be a positive role model for families, co-workers, and children
  • Follow the chain of command with any issues or concerns
  • Attends virtual and in person trainings.
