General Description
Lenape Early Learning Center is seeking an individual with kitchen, restaurant or culinary experience to serve as our cook. This individual will be responsible for following and implementing all USDA food program paperwork and child meal pattern plans. This individual will create monthly menus, conduct inventory of food stock, rotate and label stock, prepare meals and deliver to classrooms at scheduled meal times. The ideal candidate must be a go getter who likes a fast passed work environment. This individual should have a minimum of one-year experience as an institutional cook and receive the minimum training requirements established by the Department of Human Services (DHS)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of a High-School Diploma/GED
  • Oklahoma Food Handlers Permit or be willing to receive
  • Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children or violence, and satisfactorily complete the required background check and drug testing
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Requires a high level of problem solving, organization skills, and must be a self-start

  • Requires good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality and flexibility.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrive promptly at the beginning of your shift Monday thru Friday
  • Follow all guidelines established by OKDHS and the CACFP food program
  • Maintain all CACFP paperwork
  • Manage inventory of kitchen supplies
  • Order kitchen supplies and work within a prepared budget
  • Prepare all meals and assist in the delivery of meals to classrooms
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and work environment at all times
  • Post any and all child allergies in kitchen
  • Maintain refrigerator/freezer daily temperature logs
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate unity and be a positive role model for families, co-workers, and children
  • Follow the chain of command with any issues or concerns
  • Attends virtual and in person trainings.

Application for Work Training Aid

The Delaware Tribe of Indians is pleased to offer assistance for individuals continuing their educational journey. This program is open for individuals pursuing vocational training. Please refer to the following criteria to determine eligibility:

Eligibility:
Aid is limited to areas that lead to certification or increase employability characteristics. Acceptable continuing education/vocational training programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical Training/Certification
    • Plumbing, HVAC Tech, Welding, Auto Mechanics
  • Health Certification/Careers
    • Sonography, Nursing, Dental Assistant
  • Business Certification
    • Computer and IT Support, Cybersecurity, Graphic Design, Legal Aide, Bookkeeping
  • Applicant pursuing programs that are not listed above are encourage to apply. Special consideration may be taken depending on circumstances and need.

Only COMPLETE applications will be considered for assistance.

This program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and provided to you by the Delaware Tribe of Indians. Award recipients can receive up to $4,000 is assistance to be applied to the upcoming academic year, this is not to guarantee every recipient will receive the full $4,000 awarded amount. Application deadline: December 31, 2023.

Domestic Violence Advocate

General Description
The primary role of the domestic violence advocate is to support and assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, and teen dating violence in finding safety, leveraging resources, and bettering their lives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences OR 3+ years of experience working in the fields of domestic violence advocacy or crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and effective intervention strategies preferred.
  • Skilled in working with sensitive issues and committed to respecting the confidential nature of the work.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients of diverse sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving approach. Proficient in data collection and reporting. Strong written and oral communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides crisis intervention and advocacy services utilizing trauma-informed, client-centered practices.
  • Assists victims in completing the ex parte order of protection paperwork, presenting the protective order petition to the Court, and understanding the legal process.
  • Assists victims in identifying and obtaining resources for basic needs.
  • Provides ongoing advocacy, goal-setting assistance, and safety planning.
  • Answers calls on the 24-hour crisis line during week-long rotating shifts.
  • Completes accurate data collection on client services and assists in reporting to grantors.
  • Attends and participates at partner meetings and community engagement events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director or Advocate Coordinator.

Enrollment and Subsidy Coordinator

General Description
Lenape Early Learning Center is seeking a qualified professional to oversee the program enrollment into the program and assist families with applying for subsidy care through various providers. . This person will work closely with incoming families helping with the onboarding process. This person will also assist families in completing applications to local child care subsidy programs. This person will need to provide a high level of customer service skills as well as communication skills. This position will require attention to details and proficiency in computer skills. A background in social services and or experience in subsidy care is helpful but not required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of a High-School Diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year experience working administration in Child care is preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children or violence, and satisfactorily complete the required background check and drug testing
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Requires a high level of problem solving, organization skills, and¬ must be a self-starter
  • Requires good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be a positive point of contact for prospective and enrolled families.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
