Join the Cultural Preservation Committee in the FCS Building for our last song & dance practice of the year! We will also be welcoming SMC youth & enjoying a delicious meal cooked by Kay Anderson. So come hungry and ready to sing & dance!

(Original) This program is for Delaware tribal members only and is for propane, natural gas, and firewood. One application per household. Copy of Delaware Tribal ID, State-issued ID, and currently dated gas bill or propane invoice in Delaware tribal member’s name required with application. Only ONE application per household will be accepted.
Upon application approval, a one-time payment will be made directly to the utility/propane provider.
Approved firewood applicants will be contacted to schedule a date and time for pick up.
Program available until funds/firewood are expended.

General Description
Childcare Family Service Coordinator is responsible for providing family service assistance for families with children enrolled in the Lenape Early Learning Center. FSC has the responsibility for family support services including implementing, coordinating and providing direct case management services to EHS-CC families, developing and implementing partnerships with EHS-CC families including Family Partnership Agreements. Must coordinate/provide training to parents and community agencies; monitor the implementation of social services, parent involvement, volunteer services, and community partnerships and assist with the health and other support services provided to families. In conformance with QRIS Performance Standards, assist families to build on their strengths and develop plans to address areas of concern, including job market assistance, and resource identification. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with people, possess excellent problem solving, planning, and organizational skills. Be patient, able to resolve conflicts, gentle, kind, creative, resourceful, detail and multi-task orientation with a strong desire to succeed and be able to cope well with stress. This is a Salary position and sometimes may require travel, or occasional overtime on evenings and or weekends.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or Social Services preferred or a suitable combination of college coursework with field experience will be considered.
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Knowledge of IEP, ILP and social services for children
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 20 hours training required annually
- Meet and maintain all state and licensing requirements, accreditation criteria, and LELC policies
- Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children or violence, and satisfactorily complete the required background check and drug testing
- Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
- Requires a high level of problem solving, organization skills, and must be a self-starter
- Requires good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Requires a high level of confidentiality and flexibility.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to actively engage children in play, which will require sitting, standing, bending, and minimal lifting of at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to actively engage children outdoors in various weather conditions
Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold and Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Provide local community resources to EHS and CC families and children
- Establish positive relationships between program staff and families
- Help families in crisis, and help direct them to appropriate local resources
- Help with IEP, ILP and special services
- Receive training in child abuse reporting and other family advocacy programs and trainings
- Work as part of the leadership team in long- and short-term program planning.
- Plan and procure events for monthly community resource and outreach
- Work with Teaching Staff to conduct ongoing child assessments, and bi-annual parent teacher conferences.
- Will work with Support Staff and Child Care Director to ensure Programmatic objectives and goals are met.
- Ability to work independently.
- Effective time management and strong organizational skills essential
- Maintain personal professional development plan and Professional Development Ladder (PDL) to ensure continuous quality improvement as well as meeting OKDHS and EHS standards.
- Represent the Tribe and LELC in a positive way to promote unity and be a positive role model for families, co-workers, and children
- Be willing to gain more knowledge, experience, and training in the field of Early Childhood Development by attending virtual and in person trainings
- Other duties as assigned by the Family Services Lead Coordinator or LELC Director.

General Description
The Education Manager promotes the School Readiness of the Delaware Tribal Head Start Program by providing technical assistance, mentoring, and training to the staff, agency, and parents/families. Planning children’s readiness to learn involves culturally responsive, integrated service delivery of child development, disabilities, and mental health that supports learning environments. To enhance children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development and promote children’s growth in language, literacy, mathematics, science, social and emotional development, creative arts, physical development, and approaches to learning. Ensures monitoring, agency collaboration, and tracking of education services.
Qualifications
- Degree minimum of an associate’s in early childhood education or child development/School Age OR CDA, COM, or any combination of experience and learning considered with PDP
- 8,000 clock hours (4) years working with young children (birth to 8 years) as a caregiver, teacher, social worker, or similar role.
- Fifty (50) clock hours of professional growth for adults within the last three years. (ex., Staff meetings, parent meetings, local presentations)
- Knowledge and experience in Early Head Start/Head Start programs
- Must have experience in program planning, budgeting, and management
- Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
- Requires a high level of problem-solving and organization skills and must be a self-starter
- Requires good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising and working closely with the Director to assist with hiring, evaluation, annual training, and ensuring that EHS Standards are met.
- Lead the EHS curriculum management team in defining goals, objectives, and program activities that are developmentally appropriate and meet children’s individual needs.
- To operate/maintain/monitor Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) and ChildPlus software systems.
- Works and interacts with peers as individuals and/or in team/group settings professionally.
- Facilitate ASQ Questionnaires and scoring
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new techniques and developments in early childhood by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational group members) and by reading outcome-based research materials.
- Provide ongoing quality assistance to address children’s challenging behaviors and sensory needs
- Coordinates and evaluates the work of instructional teaching staff when assigned.
- Must share responsibility for the training of teaching staff in the center culture, communication, expectations, regulations, and safety of the children
- Works with Family Services to help guide the teachers and families when assistance is needed.
- Attend virtual and in-person training.
- Assist in having trainers come to the center and do a class.
- Ensure the program reflects the culture and values of the Delaware Tribe.

General Description
The Cultural Education Department Generalist will support the Delaware Tribe of Indians’ Cultural Education Department by performing a variety of tasks aimed at promoting, preserving, and educating about the Lenape (Delaware) culture. This position plays an essential role in assisting with cultural programs, events, educational outreach, consultation services, and administrative duties to ensure the department operates smoothly and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Native American culture and history, specifically Lenape culture, and be passionate about community engagement and education.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Native American Studies, History, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with Native American communities or cultural education programs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Lenape (Delaware) culture, language, and traditions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic digital communication tools.
- Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Assistance
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of cultural education programs and events, including elder storytelling sessions, cultural workshops, and educational activities.
- Provide logistical support for department events, such as setting up spaces, managing materials, and ensuring a smooth flow of activities.
- Facilitate and support workshops, classes, and community outreach programs for children, youth, and adults.
- Consultation and Advisory Services
- Provide consultation services to schools, museums, cultural organizations, and other external entities seeking guidance on Lenape (Delaware) culture, history, and traditions.
- Collaborate with educational institutions to develop culturally appropriate curricula and learning materials that reflect the heritage of the Delaware Tribe.
- Offer expert advice and recommendations to community members, researchers, and organizations on the appropriate use of Lenape symbols, language, and cultural elements in their projects.
- Coordinate and participate in consultations related to cultural preservation and educational projects, ensuring they align with the Delaware Tribe’s values and practices.
- Act as a point of contact for entities seeking cultural consultation, ensuring timely and accurate responses to requests for information or collaboration.
- Community Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between the Cultural Education Department and the Delaware Tribe community, maintaining open communication and gathering feedback to improve programming.
- Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials, including articles for the tribal newspaper and digital content.
- Participate in community meetings, conferences, and events, representing the Cultural Education Department when necessary.
- Administrative Duties
- Assist with department communications, including answering inquiries, managing email correspondence, and updating the department’s calendar.
- Maintain records of department activities, including event attendance, program outcomes, and feedback.
- Support grant writing efforts by providing relevant program and event data.
- Assist with budget tracking and purchasing for events, supplies, and materials.
- Special Projects
- Collaborate with department staff on special projects, such as cultural exhibits, research, or curriculum development, as directed by the Director of Cultural Education.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the department’s long-term strategic goals for cultural preservation and education.
